Classical pianist, contemporary visual and performance artist, Sholpan Sharbakova Miller was born in Kazakhstan. She counts as the one of the leading Kazakh artists of her generation. Her visual and conceptual ideas had emerged through the focus on the points of intersection between classical music, modern art, design and her native culture. 

Being a professional musician she has performed as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles, touring her native Kazakhstan, Russia and Europe. She is a laureate of numerous of international piano competitions and festivals. She graduated in 2008 from the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Professor Hamish Milne, receiving the Dip RAM, Academy’s highest award for performance. Prior her move to London, she graduated with “Honours” from the Gnessins Russian Academy of Music, where she studied with Professor Grigory Gordon. She has also studied at the Design School, in Moscow Architectural Institution. 

Sholpan’s work can be found in public and private art collections in Europe, Russia and Kazakhstan. She participated in numerous exhibitions worldwide, including 56th Venice Biennale and London’s Global Art Fair – ART 15. She has also fulfilled her childhood dream by launching her own designer label under the name of Shola Miller – Art for Consumption.
